I shot these black ducks over at Blendon Woods this afternoon. Note one of them is banded and has some green on his head making me think it is possibly a black duck mallard cross. Threw in the geese just for fun. Enjoy!

October 18, 2015

I took this shot of the female northern shoveler at a wildlife refuge in northcentral Ohio. I had not seen any shovelers around these parts since early last spring, not sure if this is an early migrator or perhaps a resident bird. I shot this about an hour before dusk, the sun had just came out of the clouds putting a wonderful glow on everything, this is without doubt my favorite time of day to photograph waterfowl.

I got these shots of a group of immature wood ducks this afternoon. It was cool to get them in the woods foraging instead of on the water. I would bet these ducks were hatched together on the pond where I caught up with them.

I shot this silk worm (I think its a silk worm anyway) at Clear Creek Metro Park this afternoon. I spotted it hanging from a single tiny strand in a meadow. Enjoy!

I was out visiting some of my favorite woodland ponds this morning; I got shots of an immature wood duck drake and a hen along with some frogs. I hope you enjoy these!

July 11, 2015

I shot these today at Blendon Woods. The dragonflies were hanging out on a split rail fence and really liked being there, I took these pictures with a 500mm lense at a distance of about 8'. I am really pleased with the results.

July 10, 2015

I have been super busy with a ton of things and have not taken much in the way of pictures the last couple of months. I was at Blendon Woods yesterday and took a couple shots with my iPhone, it amazes me the quality of camera in the phones.
