Paw Paw

Fruit of the pawpaw tree. It is also sometimes called buckeye banana in Ohio.

Black Ducks

I found this on Flyways.us: "The Black Duck is dusky brown with a paler head. The drake and hen look very similar except for their bills. The drake's bill is greenish yellow while the hen's bill is an olive green. Both sexes have a dark blue wing patch and a white under wing visible in flight. They both have a dark eye line" My conclusion; the first picture is the drake and the second is the hen.

This shot was taken in 2011 with a Blackberry camera phone in Hocking County Ohio, pretty good pic I think for the Blackberry!

Wild Turkeys

A couple of decent looks at some turkeys over at Blendon Woods. After a fresh snow there are wonderful opportunities for interesting pictures. The second pair of pictures were taken along the road near near Newark Ohio; these were taken with a Canon SX110 point-shoot camera.
